Stags in Autumn

Fall Blessings, here is the Circle of the Stag November News!

Notice how the trees don't cling to their leaves. Fall is about releasing the old to make way for the new.

Editor's Musings

The quote this month is at the top this letter for a reason. I think this is an important theme for the Fall season as we struggle with going into the colder months, changing in the community and ourselves. We've reaped what we've sown throughout the year as we have now passed the 3 harvest festivals of Lughnasadh\Lammas, Mabon & Samhain and now its time to clean house so to speak.

Fall is a good time to clean our what no longer serves you. In fall we rake, sweep, throw out and burn fallen leaves and dead plant matter. Compare this to ourselves both physically and spiritually. Do we have clutter, dead things, old habits, old thoughts, or any items that no longer serve us? It's time to cleanse ourselves of those things so they do not mold, rot, entangle our minds, bodies and souls.

Winter is coming.

Fare Thee Well Ma'at's Temple and Other Social Ramblings

by Colleen

A big thank you goes out to Bruce and Ma'at's temple for the service both him and the temple have provided to the community from 2013-2017. The physical temple space from 2013-2016 and the Facebook page continued until Samhain 2017. There are many fond memories of rituals in that beautiful space, friends made, and self discoveries.

You can read the farewell message posted by Bruce here as well as order a copy of the 'In H/er Many Names:The Ma'at's Temple Archives' from the Book Patch publishing group found in another post in the Facebook page.

If you are missing an online Pagan home please visit one or all of the following Facebook groups that have taken foot in the pagan community here in Wichita.

Wichita Area Pagans!
Kansas Pagans

There are probably groups that I missed. If you have another social group you would like to share, please feel free to post on Circle of the Stag's Facebook page. We support and promote all Pagan groups to allow diversity and help others find their "home", whether that be online or connecting with people in the community.

Communities take work, time, energy and dedication. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Even online communities are not without their struggles. It takes members willing to share, create, organize and step up to provide content and events to keep people interested. So often a Facebook group will have reposts after reposts and it will become stale. Yes pictures and sharing articles are great so I'm not putting those down but it shouldn't stop there. Where's the meat and potatoes? What draws people in? In between the reposts do we find original articles, shared experiences, maybe some events to meet in person.."oh the horror!" (No offence to any agoraphobics, people with Anthropophobia and any other phobia's I may have missed).

One definition of Community is "a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals". Let's share! Share our lives, share our spirituality, share our experiences, share to help others find what they are looking for.

So mote it be!

November Correspondences

Full Moon - November 4th

Via "November’s full Moon was called the Beaver Moon by both the Algonquin tribes. The Native Americans used the monthly Moons and nature’s signs as a sort of calendar to track the seasons.
Why this name? Back then, this was the month to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs.
The November full Moon was also called the Full Frost Moon by other Native American tribes."

Birthstone & Flower

The birthstones for the month of November are the Topaz and Citrine. The flower is the Chrysanthemum.

New Moon - November 18th

"The new moon on Saturday the 18th of November 2017 is at 26 degrees Scorpio. New moon November 2017 is almost exactly opposite a planet new to astrology. Minor planet Sedna was only discovered in 2003 so astrologers have only just started to understand it’s meaning. Most interpretations seem to be based on the mythology of the arctic goddess of the sea because the planet was named after her. Due to the orbital history of Sedna I am sure it’s associated with climate change and rising sea levels.
The November 18 new moon links a new awareness of climate change to the most important planetary aspect of 2017, Saturn trine Uranus. This major aspect will help you make positive changes in your life in response to the threats posed by climate change. New moon November 2017 will help you find practical and creative ways to save energy, while making your life more efficient and productive."

“The two signs associated with the month of November are Scorpio and Sagittarius. People born from November 1st to November 22nd are members of the Scorpio sign. A Scorpio can be identified by their success-driven and resilient nature. For those born from November 23rd to November 30th, they are members of the Sagittarius zodiac sign. As the Sagittarius often has an appreciation for life's finer things, members of the sign can be identified by their animated and hardworking nature."

This is Opal! She is quite whimsical and

Her colors are spectacular and can give

she is associated with prosperity and loyalty. Opal
